Alessandra Celletti

Alessandra Celletti nasce in ambito prettamente classico, ma le sue esperienze musicali e artistiche si moltiplicano con improvvise deviazioni in un ambito musicale e creativo molto personale, rivolgendo la propria attenzione soprattutto al colore dei suoni e all’equilibrio dinamico tra le note; lontana dalle etichette, difficilmente catalogabile nei cliché preesistenti, Celletti è capace di passare trasversalmente da un genere all’altro con un unico imprescindibile comun denominatore: il pianoforte. Alessandra si impone come autrice con il lavoro "Chi mi darà le ali" nel 2006, ma è anche apprezzata interprete di un vasto repertorio che include composizioni di Debussy, Ravel e Satie, Gurdjieff/De Hartmann, Scott Joplin e Philip Glass. Nel 2007 pubblica "The Golden Fly", sedici composizioni originali per piano, seguito, nel 2008 da “Way Out”, nel quale le sonorità del pianoforte, con naturalezza ed equilibrio, si fondono alla forza ritmica della batteria. Molte le collaborazioni: dall’artista concettuale svedese Paulina Wallenberg Olsson al sassofonista Nicola Alesini al compositore inglese Mark Tranmer (aka GNAC) con il quale ha pubblicato l'album "The Red Pages". Il libero movimento dei suoni ha anche reso possibile l'incontro tra Alessandra Celletti ed uno dei massimi esponenti della musica elettronica sperimentale contemporanea, Hans Joachim Roedelius con il quale Celletti ha composto l’album "Sustanza di cose sperata", uscito nel 2009 in contemporanea ad "Alessandra Celletti plays Baldassarre Galuppi", album dedicato all’autore veneto del settecento.

Del 2011 Crazy Girl Blue,  tredicesimo album per la pianista romana, è un suggestivo e immediato autoritratto musicale, che esprime attraverso sedici brani il suo mondo onirico, il fascino per l’invisibile e la sua passione per il volo.

Parallelamente sono state pubblicate due edizioni molto particolari di sue composizioni: “Sketches of Sagawea”, cofanetto in cartone serigrafato, contenente un libro ed un cd di cinque brani inediti a tiratura limitata a 200 esemplari numerati, dedicato all’eroina nativa americana Sacagawea, e l’album-sonorizzazione che accompagna la prima uscita, per l’editore Transeuropa, dell’inedito di George Bataille “W.C.”, racconto distrutto da Bataille negli anni venti dello scorso secolo e ritrovato alla sua morte sotto forma di frammenti pubblicati negli anni ’80 in forma anonima.

All’attività di studio Alessandra Celletti alterna sempre i suoi impegni concertistici spesso come ospite di Festival e rassegne in Italia e all’estero.

La musica di Alessandra Celletti è un caleidoscopio nel quale trovano spazio le diverse sfumature della sua arte compositiva; un mondo immaginato, visivo e sonoro, che con instancabile tenacia e vorticoso entusiasmo Alessandra sceglie di rappresentare.

Il nuovo album si intitola “Above the sky” ed esce sempre per l’etichetta americana Transparency.

Alessandra Celletti, has a musical background  that stems from a pure classical base developing in a genre which is barely identifiable in some stereotype or pre-existing cliché. Her musical and artistic experiences detour into a very personal and creative musical world, turning the attention primarily to the color of sound and the dynamic balance between the notes. Hard to label and difficult to catalog in orthodox ways, she's able to move transversely  from one genre to another with only one inescapable common denominator: the piano. Alessandra Celletti’s debut as author is with the album “Chi mi darà le ali” ("Who will give me wings") in 2006; for the first time she is author, performer and producer. She is also an appreciated interpreter of a vast repertoire that includes compositions by Debussy, Ravel and Satie, Gurdjieff / de Hartmann, Scott Joplin and Philip Glass. In 2007 she published "The Golden Fly", sixteen original compositions for piano, followed, later in 2008 by "Way Out", where the sound of piano blends with naturalness and balance with the rhythmic power of the drums.

Many the collaboration: with the swedish conceptual artist Paulina Wallenberg Olsson, saxophonist Nicholas Alesini and the english composer Mark Tranmer (aka GNAC), with whom she released the album "The Red Pages". The free movement of sounds has also made possible the meeting between Alessandra Celletti and one of the leading exponents of contemporary experimental electronic music, Hans Joachim Roedelius with whom she composed the album "Sustanza di cose sperata" ("Sustanza of things hoped for") in the winter of 2009, simultaneously with "Alessandra Celletti plays Baldassare Galuppi" an album dedicated to Baldassare Galuppi, a venetian author of the eighteenth century.

 “Crazy Girl Blue” (2011), is Alessandra’s thirteenth album, a striking and immediate musical self-portrait, which expresses through sixteen tracks her dream world, the fascination with the unseen and her passion for flying.

In the same year were published two very special editions of her compositions: "Sketches of Sagawea",  a printed cardboard box containing a book and a CD of five songs in a limited edition of 200 numbered copies, dedicated to Native American heroin Sacagawea, and a cd album of the soundtrack that accompanies the first release of the book by George Bataille  "W.C." which had been destroyed by Bataille himself  in the twenties of the last century and found after his death in the form of fragments published in the 80’s anonymously.

Alessandra Celletti always alternates her study activities with her concert engagements often as host of festivals and exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

Alessandra Celletti's music is a kaleidoscope in which the various nuances of her art of composition find space, an imaginary visual and audio world, that with tenacity and tireless, swirling enthusiasm, Alessandra  chooses to represent.

The last album,  entitled “Above the sky” is also released by Tranpsarency.
